This is how they are making money on YouTube

Take a look at this short story about Mariama
“You dey online from morning till night, but your data no dey pay you back?” That was the joke Mariama’s cousin used to tease her with every time he saw her watching videos through YouTube. At first, she laughed it off. But one day, she paused and thought “Wait o…people really dey make money on this same YouTube I’m just using to laugh at comedies?
Mariama, a 25-year-old from Freetown, had always been active online. She posted videos regularly, joined groups, and even ran a small page where she shared funny Sierra Leonean skits videos and daily motivation. After hearing so many stories of people monetizing their YouTubevideos, she decided to dig deeper.
She learned about YouTube's monetization programs: in-stream ads, fan subscriptions, and even bonus payouts for creators. She also discovered that some were making cool money just by sharing viral content or running affiliate campaigns on Facebook groups and pages. So she became Curious and determined, she started reshaping her youtube channel into something more focused mixing entertainment with value. She signed up for AdSense, followed monetization policies, stayed consistent with content, and slowly began to build engagement and followers and also subscribers.
Fast forward within six months, Mariama now earns steady income from her youtube videos through adsense and affiliate marketing through her Facebook presence. What started as “just vibes” became a growing digital hustle all from the same app people said was only for gossip...so let's continue
